Current Status                      :   He is able to do his activities of daily life only with help.  He is able to speak only one or two words.

 

 

Training Given at Nesam School:

  1. He is being trained to talk in sentences and to convey the thoughts properly. 

  2. He is made to mingle to others for improving his social behaviour.

  3. He is given consciousness about personal cleanliness and environmental awareness.

  4. To improve his memory power, stories and action songs are being taught.

  5. He is made to understand how to handle electrical appliances, fire and also traffic.

  6. He writes numerals from 1 to 5, but is unable to count objects in 5’s.  He is being trained to write his name and address.

  7. He is shown pictures of nature and animals and their names are being taught.

  8. Vocational training is given in the following fields: Painting, envelope making, candle moulding, woolen toy weaving, and decorating gift items. 

 

OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

    He talks in two-word sentences and is able to communicate well, but only with gestures.

    He needs help for his dressing and toileting activities but is independent while eating.

    With yoga, his flexibility and concentration are improved.  He is able to do any vocational activity neatly with patience.

    He does not write his name or address.  He is however, good at assembling 10-piece puzzles, once the method to do them is taught to him.  He does not read any of the functional words, and he does not understand the concept of numbers or money.

    He is a very good student and he participates in all the vocational activities with patience and does all the activities neatly.
