Request from OT graduate students of University of Toronto

Dear family and friends,

We are excited to share that we have the opportunity to learn and assist with providing rehabilitation services at Amar Seva Sangam (ASSA), a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the rehabilitation, education, and empowerment of people with disabilities in rural Ayikudy, India. This two month placement will begin in October, 2019, as part of the Masters of Occupational Therapy program at the University of Toronto.

ASSA provides a variety of services at their facility, including accessible and supportive housing for children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities, schooling, rehabilitation, and vocational training. ASSA is a non-profit organization that operates through charitable donations and provides many of its services for free.

We are looking forward to this unique opportunity to embrace a new culture and learn about ways to navigate the challenges of working in an environment with limited resources. To support this organization in providing the best quality of care possible, we hope to raise $500 to be directed towards areas of need for this facility. This may include equipment and supplies such as wheelchairs, proper cushions, splints, and any other assistive devices needed.

Thank you in advance for your support and generosity!
